KEY HONORS
MCPAW is proud of its acceptance as a Network Partner in the No More Homeless Pets® Network of Best Friends Animal Society. The No More Homeless Pets Network is comprised of select public charity rescue groups, spay/neuter organizations and shelters that are actively saving lives and reducing shelter deaths locally.
MCPAW is a past Potomac Charity of the Year awardee, recognized by the Potomac Chamber of Commerce for its dedication to providing needed funds for the new Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center.
MCPAW is a preferred partner of the Montgomery County Animal Services Adoption Center (MCASAC). The MCASAC is staffed by a group of animal care professionals who utilize best practices to care for all of the animals in the facility. They work as a team, and with assistance from MCPAW, to turn each of those animals into a pet with a forever home.
MCPAW’s Unique and all-encompassing programs are based on the following core beliefs:
MCPAW believes…
• That no pet should suffer in pain, be surrendered to a shelter, or be euthanized simply because its owner has fallen on hard times. So, we fund critical medical procedures and provides free pet food to those in need.
• That animals in shelters deserve to be happy and healthy, and that when they are happy and healthy, they are more likely to be adopted. So, we fund veterinary care and supplies of toys and continued socialization. We also fund post-adoption veterinary care when people knowingly adopt an animal with special needs.
• That awaiting adoption in a caring foster home is preferable to waiting in a shelter. So, MCPAW will work with shelters and a network of qualified foster care volunteers to find temporary homes – especially when the pet needs special attention and love.
And,
• That when people are well-prepared to select the best pet for them and know how to acclimate that pet to its new home and lifestyle, the pet will remain in that home. So, we are increasing our focus on educating the masses on these matters with simple and proven techniques communicated via short videos, on our website, and more.
