Jax the Puppy

Last month, a 10-week-old Malamute named Jax was surrendered to the Montgomery County Animal Services & Adoption Center. He had a very serious condition called intussusception where a segment of the large or small intestine telescopes into a nearby portion of the digestive tract. It can be deadly because it can cause gastrointestinal blockage or cut off blood supply and kill the affected tissue. MCPAW paid to have his surgery already - $4,000.

But Jax took a turn for the worse and went back in the hospital. Sadly, he did not make it and we are heartbroken.

Already this year, MCPAW has spent 50% of our 2020 budget for the Veterinary Medical Fund.
